Today a Reader,

Tomorrow a Leader

Reading has always been a big part of my life and I truly believe opens up one’s life to new avenues and ideas. Given my hunger for more information, I typically order books formatted for my Amazon Kindle that I can read not only on my Kindle, but also on the Kindle app on my computer, iPad or iPhone. I highlight a lot, so this suits me giving me a means of reviewing the best parts of a book later on.

As such, I thought that I would put together a curated list of books that both I have read or is highly recommended and ones I plan to read. I will break the books into categories to help you more easily locate books that may be of interest. In the future, I hope to include book reviews. Thanks for your interest!

Full disclosure - As an Amazon Affiliate partner, I receive a small percentage of each sale from an Amazon product, which helps fund the channel.. All products listed are at Amazon prices.

Nature - Fauna and Flora

This section is a selection of books about the natural world we live in that i have read, are on my reading list, or that come highly recommended. Enjoy!

Photography

I have always enjoyed taking pictures and revisiting them and improving my craft. I started with landscape photography and as my kids played sports, moved towards shooting fast moving subjects, even becoming a sports photographer for a large local high school. As my kids moved on to college and I got closer to retirement and quit shooting sports, I went back to the subject that I love, which is nature. My sports shooting background helped me in my desire to photograph birds. This is a curated list of books that I built my photography skills upon.

Spiritual Library

Over the years, I have maintained a habit of reading the Bible along with a large number of Bible commentaries using the Olive Tree app, so that I can have access to my Bible library through most any device (iPhone, iPad and computer) that I own. Additionally, many of the books that I purchase that aren’t through the Olive Tree app are now through Amazon to read on my Kindle reader, which is also accessable through all my devices. My hard cover Biblical library got so big that I had to go digital. I sent off a large set of hard cover commentaries (The Holman Old and New Testament 32 volume commentary set) to a Pastor friend of mine in Ghana for his Church. I am a work in progress with my spiritual walk and even created my Swordnotes ( Swordnotes ) website that is also linked to this website. This was about 10 years worth of commentary quotes organized by topic that I put out on a website for anyone interested in biblical study. Listed below are some of the resources that I have enjoyed.

The Game of Golf

Golf is a lifetime sport that allows one to enjoy the outdoors while enjoying the company of others as you each compete against the course. Golf can also be a frustrating game and difficult to master. But that is what keeps folks returning for more.

Lessons are recommended, as is practice to help reduce the frustration factor and speed up the enjoyment factor. As such, I have developed a page here for golf products to help with the practice and play. It can be found here: Golf Gear. However, it is also beneficial to learn more about the sport when you can’t practice or be on the course. So, here are some books that I picked up and enjoy. Hopefully, these will help you on your journey as well!
